Most DCR controlled lots do not allow overnight parking. However, they all do have relevant signage posted in the lots so you’ll have to check the location that is most convenient for you.
December 12, 2018 at 10:02 am in reply to: Temporary Closure to Herter/Artesani Park 11/15/18 – 11/18/18 #61131Park&PedalKeymasterHi Gene. The lot is open but the temporary salt storage structure will be there throughout the winter. While the spaces officially marked for Park&Pedal are blocked, the rest of the lot can still be used.
Park&PedalKeymasterSorry for the inconvenience. We are often not notified ahead of time by the Department of Conservation and Recreation about closures either. In this case, the lot at Christian Herter Park will be closed from November 15th until Sunday the 18th while DCR constructs a temporary salt storage structure for the winter.
We don’t believe the structure will affect the official Park&Pedal spaces when completed but if so, other spaces in the lot can be used for all day parking as usual.

Park&PedalKeymasterThanks for the info Jeff. In all of our hubs on public property, the parking spaces are still open to anyone to use. They are technically Park&Pedal preferred parking since those spaces are originally intended for park users. In most cases it’s parking that is normally underutilized on weekdays, so there is seldom a conflict. As we expand and add more locations, we hope to have dedicated spots.
Park&PedalKeymasterHi Sally. We are working to add more locations and we hope to have several of them open this summer!
Park&PedalKeymasterHi Ari. Pakring is at your own risk, but since our program started in 2015 we have had no reports of break ins or vandalism of cars.
The Herter lot is indeed well lit and near the park and community garden!
Park&PedalKeymasterHi Christine. The Pleasant St location is a metered spot where you must pay for parking. It can be payed on site through the parking meter. It’s a lot cheaper than parking downtown though!
Park&PedalKeymasterMany of our lots have overflow spaces beyond those that are designated “Park&Pedal Commuter Preferred Parking”. There is no way to guarantee a space, but some of our lots like Herter Park have free parking all day regardless. You can park there whether or not you are in one of the designated spaces.

Please send us an email to info@parkandpedal.org with more details. If it’s an employer we’re working with we can definitely bring it up with our contacts there.
Park&PedalKeymasterHi John,
DCR only announced the order in which the sections will be closed, not exact dates for each. I’m assuming it depends when they finish each one. Here is the official DCR press release, which has pretty much the same info as our announcement: http://www.mass.gov/eea/docs/dcr/news/2015/dcr-recreational-advisory-temporary-path-closures-for-the-paul-dudley-white-bike-path-in-boston.pdf
